2010 Honda Gold Wing Specs News and Review

The 2010 Honda Gold Wing comes more like a disappointment rather than the interesting new entry that the public had been expecting simply because the world’s ultimate touring motorcycle features no new technical innovation or design change that is characteristic to the class it proudly dominates and to it only. While remaining as reliable, comfortable and powerful as the previous generation model, the 2010 model year is a bit safer and the new color schemes still manage to make the bike stand out despite its old-fashioned look.

With a very comfortable chair positioned just 29.1 inches off the ground and an infinite number of goodies such as a CD player, navigation system integrated and multi-function display, just to name a few, 2010 Honda Gold Wing is a synonym for open road cruising in complete luxury and relaxation. Wet bike weighs 895-928 pounds depending on options selected.

2011 Kawasaki Ninja 250R Specs News and Review

For those beginning their two-wheeled journey, the Ninja® 250R sportbike has always been a great option to start. Its low seat height and peppy engine translate into hours of fun for both novices and veterans. Though its engine may be compact, its eight-valve cylinder head means a rider can wring every bit of enjoyment from each twist of the throttle, from idle to redline. And with sharp styling that matches its supersport siblings, the Ninja 250R looks fast even while standing still. Best of all, the 250R is a great value, with an affordable purchase price and excellent fuel economy.

The fun begins with its 249cc liquid-cooled engine that thrives on high-rpm excitement. The parallel-twin is tuned for peppy power delivery that’s both smooth and predictable, making for a beginner friendly motorcycle. A silky-smooth six-speed transmission lets riders exploit the 250R’s powerband from that low-end grunt to the crowd pleasing and lively top-end rush. Just like the supersports, it uses petal disc brakes. And the lightweight Ninja provides plenty of entertainment from the initial learning curve to beyond.
Wrapping the 250R are the fairing and windscreen that not only look great, but deliver wind protection for a wide range of riding situations. An easy-to-read instrument panel with fuel gauge and neutral indicator is another convenient feature for the new rider.
A natural riding position and comfortable ergonomics combine with lightweight handling, easy controllability and great throttle response for pure pleasure on city streets. Part of this great handling and stability comes from the 17-inch wheels. Bringing the show to a stop are the large petal-shaped 290mm front rotors and a single 220mm rear rotor gripped by powerful two-piston hydraulic calipers. Like Kawasaki’s other Ninja models, the 250R is equipped with quality components and tuned for class-leading performance.

KTM 990 Supermoto T Specs News and Review

2011 KTM 990 Supermoto T
Better than ever in 2011 thanks to leading ABS technology: the long-distance KTM 990 Supermoto T.
From its launch in the spring of 2009, the KTM 990 Supermoto T triggered a flood of enthusiastic comments. Reaching another sport motorcycle milestone for KTM, its new and unique concept was the first to combine the dynamism of an agile Supermoto with the benefits of a true long distance touring motorcycle.
The incredibly versatile two-cylinder Supermoto enters the biking season of 2011 with a decisive innovation. An ABS braking system tailored specifically for the requirements of the KTM Supermoto  makes for perfect deceleration under any conditions, rendering the 990 the Queen of negative acceleration without sacrificing any of its vigor.
Exciting & Sophisticated
The state-of-the-art, liquid-cooled V-Twin with KTM’s typical, favorable cylinder angle of 75° remains at the core of the long-distance Supermoto. Weighing in at an unrivalled 58kg, the 999cc, 115 bhp engine stands for crushing power, high refinement and impressive control. In a nutshell: exhilarating performance in a sophisticated package. And just what the special concept of the 2011 KTM 990 Supermoto T requires.
Looking at the chassis, the latest issue of the 2011 KTM 990 Supermoto T also delivers exactly what KTM riders expect: stability all the way up to top speed; a top quality suspension that soaks up every bump while delivering a crisp feedback; ultra-precise steering; and above all, as befits a true Supermoto, superior flickability. This effortlessness is achieved by purposely eliminating any and all unnecessary components, finding smart design solutions, and using only first rate materials.
At a curb weight of 197 kilos including the ABS, the 2011 model remains below the magical 200 kilo margin, an impressive demonstration of the KTM developers’ prowess and ambition.

High End Deceleration Support
Some of the credit for the low weight is due to the anti-lock braking system, available for the first time on the 2011 KTM 990 Supermoto T, that weighs in at only one kilogram. In close collaboration with specialist supplier Bosch, the latest-generation dual channel system has been specifically adapted to the requirements of a very sporty Supermoto.
It is matched to a high-performance Brembo braking system with radial four pot calipers on 305mm discs, tailored to deliver outstanding control and awesome stopping power. The result is a sensitive ABS braking system that lets the 2011 KTM 990 Supermoto T stop safely and with pinpoint accuracy on any surface and from any speed. Equipped with rollover detection, the functions of the KTM-Bosch system have been purposely designed not to interfere with an aggressive riding style. Deploying only in truly extreme situations, it will keep out of your way as long as the surface is dry and provides sufficient grip. The system may also be switched off at any time for off-road outings.
Production of 2011 KTM 990 Supermoto T, now available with ABS in high gloss orange, white, or black, will commence in February, 2011. As befits its wide range of uses, KTM offers a multitude of bespoke parts and equipment from its range of PowerParts accessories, be it in order to enhance the sporty credentials even further or to add even more touring capabilities. The 2011 KTM 990 Supermoto T remains the first choice for the most extensive riding enjoyment on any road, at any speed, and – as of 2011 – in any weather.

BMW K1300R Specs News and Review

2011 BMW K1300R
2011 BMW K1300R... Absolute destruction. Aggressive. Adrenaline pure. Even when standing still. And even more so as soon as it gets going. What happens at this moment is among the special moments in the life of a biker: a rocket-like start. Thanks to its geometry, this projectile zooms into orbit like no other. Perfect for the quarter mile. But also for everyday use. And bends. Not only does it supremely tap into 173 bhp and 140 Nm and produce a sound from its new hexagonal tube with catalytic converter and exhaust valve that gives you goose pimples. But also because all this goes hand in hand with fuel consumption and exhaust emission levels which even a “sensible” bike would be proud. After all, BMW stands for Bayerische Motoren Werke.
The very finest technology, ergonomics from the people who invented it and a style which is simply unforgettable. And you can hardly believe that despite all this emotional appeal, it is one of the safest motorcycles with the best levels of everyday suitability: ABS and ESA II as optional extras, for example. And even the accessories bowl you over: racers order the automatic shift function which allows them to burn through the gears, as well as the MotoGP-style 2D dashboard – just so the lap times are official. And if you want to load it up there are even luggage solutions, too. But even they cannot change the fact that this is the coolest power in town. Contact your dealer if you have any questions or concerns about test driving this bike!

In The News HONDA FURY New Chopper

There is just 1 day remaining before HONDA showcases the FURY, the 1st ever production chopper from a Bike giant. There has been so much of speculations, but I guess we can wait for 1 more day before it is officially launched in New York International Motorcycle Show on Friday (16th Jan). The picture above is courtesy Hell For Leather Magazine. The first scoop photos came to the net through Solo Moto who got some spy pics of the bike being tested.
The Fury has a 1312cc fuel-injected liquid-cooled shaft driven V-twin engine and certainly the longest wheelbase of any production motorcycle at 1808.5mm. To support the massive frame, it has fat 200 series rear tire is supported by a hidden monoshock while the front tire is a skinny 90/90-21.
There is also an official website for the launch called Fury is Unleashed!
