Ducati Monster 1100

The Ducati Monster 1100

Ducati Monster: Full stop. Fast forward.
Designed for those who want to make the ultimate expression, the 1100 stands as the new standard of excellence at the head of the Monster family. This masterpiece of style and performance is powered by the legendary and charismatic 1100cc Desmodromic L-Twin engine, famous the world over for its torque and breathtaking acceleration. Conceived and built to redefine the naked concept, the Monster 1100 boasts typical Italian design while ensuring exciting performance in true Monster style.

A MINIMUM WEIGHT, A MAXIMUM FUN
The Monster 1100 is the lightest bike in its class: The 1100 S weighs in at 168kg (369lb) and the 1100 at just 169kg (373lb)!

The exceptional handling, combined with legendary torque from the Ducati Desmo engine, results in a pure, adrenalin-filled ride. Extremely lightweight 5-spoke Marchesini wheels help reduce unsprung weight, while the beautifully shaped single-sided swingarm gives the Monster a ‘tough’ look while ensuring higher rigidity, reduced weight and enhanced road holding.Increased ground clearance enables maximum lean angles when you explore the sports side of the Monster 1100 to the full.
The 43mm Showa forks and Sachs rear suspension unit are adjustable to suit your riding style and provide that perfect ‘feel’. The short Trellis frame, developed in conjunction with Ducati Corse, uses the same tube diameter and thickness as the 1098 R, while the rear subframe is derived from Desmosedici RR technology. The fantastic Brembo braking system features a radial master cylinder feeding radially mounted four-piston calipers on twin 320mm discs, an incredible set-up that guarantees optimum braking.

THE DESMODROMIC CHARISMA
The Monster 1100 power unit is the legendary air-cooled, Desmodromic 1100cc engine with 95hp of unmistakable Ducati character. With an incredibly flexible power delivery, this engine ensures fantastic acceleration just when you need it, even on the most challenging of routes. The impressive 75,9lb-ft of torque, typical of the Ducati L-Twin Dual Spark engines, will excite with every twist of the throttle.

THE PERFECT CURVE
The 43mm Showa forks and Sachs rear suspension unit are adjustable to suit your riding style and provide that perfect ‘feel’. The short Trellis frame, developed in conjunction with Ducati Corse, uses the same tube diameter and thickness as the 1098 R, while the rear subframe is derived from Desmosedici RR technology. The fantastic Brembo braking system features a radial master cylinder feeding radially mounted four-piston calipers on twin 320mm discs, an incredible set-up that guarantees optimum braking.

The Arrival
The arrival of the new 1100 and 1100 S now increases the size of the Monster family, a family that redefines the naked motorcycle and stakes its claim as the new icon of Italian excellence.

The less-is-more philosophy behind all Monsters underlines Ducatis never-ending pursuit of genuinely compact, high performance motorcycles, but these new models have succeeded in being even more pared down than their predecessors.
The Monster 1100 weighs 169kg (168kg for the S version), making it by far the lightest bike in its category.

The new Monster 1100 design perfectly balances sports performance, riding pleasure and stunning looks. With its new single-sided aluminium swingarm, high level of componentry, race-oriented chassis and 15 years of evolution.

The Monster 1100 S is a pure concentrate of lightness, power, design and exclusivity. The S features 43mm Öhlins forks and progressive Öhlins rear shock absorber. Carbon fibre cam belt covers, silencer guards and front fender reduce weight by a further 1kg (2.2lb).
The distinctive racing gold coloured 5-spoke wheels of the Monster 1100 S give it an elegant style and the same sporting look as historical Ducati racing models.

The start of a new era for the Monster.
The less-is-more philosophy that made the Monster a motorcycling icon is now further enhanced to redefine your naked expectations. With its slim waist and wide handlebars, the new Monster is the ideal bike for all styles, whether riding downtown or enjoying the most exciting of open roads. A pumping Desmodromic heart held in the legendary Ducati Trellis frame underlines the unrivalled naked beauty of the Monster.

BMW K1600

The K 1600 GT is one of those bikes that has been hotly anticipated simply because of its specification. No need for BMW to tell us it’s going to be the best at this or the fastest at that: six cylinders, 1,649cc and 158bhp say it all.

The GT is one of two new BMWs fitted with the latest, in-line six-cylinder engine. The other is the GTL, which we’ll report on soon. The GT is positioned as a tourer with a sporting edge, overlapping the market sector covered by the sadly discontinued K 1300 GT, with rivals such as Honda’s STX1300 Pan European, the Yamaha FJR1300 and Kawasaki’s 1400GTR.

The BMW’s on-paper specification trumps the lot, but there’s rather more to it than figures. It’s a big motorcycle, weighing in at 703lb (319kg), which could be intimidating – this is despite an intense weight-saving programme that leaves it tipping the scales only 59lb (26kg) heavier than the FJR1300, despite a more comprehensive specification and the extra cylinders.

Fire up the motor and even through modern silencing it hints at the ripping calico sound engineers look for in an engine. It’s simply right – not dissimilar to a Porsche 911, urging you to pull in the light-action clutch and get going.

That weight makes itself felt during slow U-turns, for instance, but otherwise the bike steers beautifully. It won’t change direction rapidly but it is predictable, neutral and astonishingly stable, and still satisfying on winding roads.

2012 BMW G650GS Sertao Specs and Review

2012 BMW G650GS Sertao
2012 BMW G650GS Sertao - BMW had many new motorcycles to present at the 2010 EICMA show, including the Concept C scooter, the six-cylinder K 1600 GT and GTL and the new BMW G650GS Sertao.
With its new 2012 BMW G650GS Sertao, BMW Motorrad has added a new, sporting chapter to the history of single cylinders in the BMW GS family. Whereas the G 650 GS thrilled riders with its lean, wiry offroad stature, the 2012 BMW G650GS Sertao promises even more sporting characteristics, even greater offroad capabilities, and an even stronger desire for adventure.
Compared to the G650GS, the 2012 BMW G650GS Sertao has extensively modified rolling gear, while the engine and frame structure are 100-percent identical to the base model. The engine is a very solid and reliable liquid-cooled, dohc, four-valve Single with 100.0 x 83.0mm bore-and-stroke dimensions and features twin-spark ignition, EFI with a 43mm throttle body and an 11.5:1 compression ratio. The resultant output is 48.0 horsepower at 6500 rpm and 44.2 foot-pounds of peak torque at 5000 rpm.

Presenting a seat height of 860 mm instead of 800 mm, a considerably larger ground clearance, and a sturdy engine guard of aluminium, the 2012 BMW G650GS Sertao presents the optimal conditions for offroad riding. In addition, the high windscreen, hand protectors, and the extended front wheel cover provide a greater level of comfort on longer tours.
Braking is handled by a 300mm stainless-steel floating rotor and Brembo two-piston caliper up front and a 240mm disc pinched by a single-piston caliper out back.
The high contrast colour scheme in Aura white / Arroyo blue combined with the seat in black/grey and the vivid Sertão lettering lend the 2012 BMW G650GS Sertao its particular sturdy enduro character.
Even with the standard equipment, the 2012 BMW G650GS Sertao is virtually the perfect embodiment of a dynamic offroad enduro. Moreover, BMW Motorrad can provide an unusually extensive range of special equipment and accessories for even greater individualisation of the new BMW G 650 GS Sertão.
Special equipment is delivered directly ex works and is integrated in the production process. Special accessories are installed at BMW Motorrad dealerships. The motorcycle can therefore be fitted with options after it has left the factory.

Bajaj Pulsar 150 Review

Bajaj Pulsar 150 Review and Bajaj Pulsae 150 Price

The Bajaj Pulsar is the first bike in India which came in direct competition with the Hero Honda CBZ. Later Bajaj introduced Pulsar 150cc DTS-i with digital twin spark ignition and till today Pulsar is one of the most sought after bike in the 150cc segment. It has definitely won over other bikes, but let us justify its triumph.

The engineers at Bajaj realized the fact that if there is no beauty and only brawn, it is not going to sell in the Indian market. Claimed to be designed and developed in Japan, this bike does have a head turning looks. The most noticeable feature of this bike is the tank. Big tanks give a big bike feel, and when Pulsar was introduced, it had one of the biggest tanks in India.

The design of the headlamps has been viewed differently by people. Some really love it and some say it could have been designed better. The headlight comes with city lights also called tell tale lights which is a value addition to its looks. Bullet and Karizma were the only bikes with city lights before Pulsar was introduced.

The tail part of the bike… hmm, yeah, I could say it is nicely designed too. Here too there is a difference of opinion. The new razor sharp rear light, whether looking good or nor not, definitely adds to the uniqueness of Bajaj Pulsar.

THIRD WORLD RECORD FOR JONES AND BUELL

November 24, 2006

London, England - Not content with two Guinness World Records for solo stoppies, Buell Motorcycles professional extreme rider Craig Jones has now done it two-up.

The former European champion and co-rider Wing Chui covered 305m on a Buell Firebolt XB12Rs front wheel on a damp Donington Park race circuit in England.

Jones took the Buell Firebolt to more than 190km/h before applying the front brake and balancing the bike on its front wheel.

Wing Chui was mounted on an extension to the front wheel spindle. As he hung on to the fairing he watched Jones steer the Buell Firebolt and had a compelling reason to hang on tight as he travelled at 160km/h with the Donington track very close to his backside.

Jones said afterwards: "We have worked and performed together for several years and you need total faith in each other. This record was our way of pushing the Buell Firebolt and our own capabilities further than ever before."

  • In 2003, Jones set the world’s longest solo stoppie record of 225m on a Buell and in 2004 beat his own record by reaching 266m.

    Ducati Streetfighter Specs

Most parents recite this and Italian folks are no different, so it’s no surprise that the heart of the Streetfighter is Ducati’s tried-and-true liquid-cooled 1099cc L-Twin engine as used in the 2008 Ducati 1098 Superbike. The Streetfighter, however, benefits from a new vacuum die-cast manufacturing process (first introduced on the 2008 Ducati 848) allowing for a lighter crankcase without compromising its strength.
The cylinders use the same 104 x 64.7mm bore/stroke dimensions as the 1098. The cylinder head is also the same, making use of four 42mm intake valves and an equal number of 34mm exhaust valves controlled via Ducati’s unique Desmodromic valve actuation system.
Fueling the engine is a pair of Marelli fuel injectors that pump fuel into elongated oval-shaped throttle bodies. The injectors receive fresh air via a modified air tract that is required due to the Streetfighter’s unique front facia design. The results is a claimed five horsepower decrease in power output.

    Yamaha YZF R1 1000cc

The Yamaha YZF-R1 bike, launched in 1998, revolutionized the sport bike landscape by successfully combining the awesome power available previously in the true liter class (1,000cc) with the lightweight and responsiveness that a 600-class chassis afford.

2010 Honda Gold Wing Specs News and Review

The 2010 Honda Gold Wing comes more like a disappointment rather than the interesting new entry that the public had been expecting simply because the world’s ultimate touring motorcycle features no new technical innovation or design change that is characteristic to the class it proudly dominates and to it only. While remaining as reliable, comfortable and powerful as the previous generation model, the 2010 model year is a bit safer and the new color schemes still manage to make the bike stand out despite its old-fashioned look.

With a very comfortable chair positioned just 29.1 inches off the ground and an infinite number of goodies such as a CD player, navigation system integrated and multi-function display, just to name a few, 2010 Honda Gold Wing is a synonym for open road cruising in complete luxury and relaxation. Wet bike weighs 895-928 pounds depending on options selected.

    Modifikasi Extreme Suzuki Raider 2003

No more powerful features of the 2003 Suzuki Raider. Starting from the front to rear, this bike has changed completely. Instead the result so extreme, with some elements of the technology changes. Like condoms tank lid can be opened using keys, that one is a teroboson. At the very least, a breakthrough modifications in Pontianak, West Kalimantan.

Home modifications Irfandi from Pontianak in 2XP “Equator City” made a bold move. Consider the attached seat on the house from the original exhaust Ducati 969. Meanwhile, the bottom-distance with the wheels still empty. “Indeed, the design was not able to fit,” said Irfandi.

Plus the arm (swing arm) are large and sturdy, while the framework for and the seat is thin, the harmonization was a little disturbed. “In the arm, I use the pro arm of Honda NSR SP and condoms to be given greater,” explained Irfandi.

To the top, using a subframe which modifikator is knock down because he wanted to make a long tail. If you get bored, then it could be dismantled extra-pair. To integrate additional context, he uses the L bolt size of 8 mm 6 pieces. “In addition to booster seats, it also became a kind of bracket for the exhaust,” said senior modifikator.

Realized there was a wide cavity, he cut back by adding exhaust Ducati 969. Another thing if a minimoto sokbreker position in Australia was not too collapsed. For each, he wore a Honda CBR150 for more tender than the original.

Also interesting, given condoms tank-lid can be opened by pressing the button. According to Irfandi, he uses the power window car fitted with a small shock. By pressing once, the condom could be opened up to 45 degrees.
